Gender Affirming Surgery

Conveniently located to serve Chicago

Gender affirming surgery (GCS) involves procedures that allow one’s physical appearance to resemble their identified gender. This process is uniquely tailored to the individual needs and desires of the patient to result in peace of mind, self-confidence, and improved quality-of-life. Gender affirming surgery involving the face is often done to provide a feminizing appearance to the face and is termed Facial Feminization. This process may involve one or many procedures including rhinoplasty, cheek implant, jaw contouring, hairline advancement, forehead contouring, and/or eyelid lift.

Who is a good candidate for facial feminization surgery?

Facial feminization surgery is an option for patients seeking a transformation of their outer appearance to better reflect their inner identity. Good candidates are healthy patients who desire a more feminine facial appearance.

What should I expect following a facial feminization surgery?

Facial feminization surgery is a combination of several surgical procedures used to create a more feminine facial appearance. This may include changes to the forehead, eyelids, nose, chin, jawline or neck. You and your surgeon will discuss your specific desires and work together to create a treatment plan that will allow you to look and feel like your best self.

Do you offer pre-surgical simulation imaging or morphing?

Yes, imaging simulation is an important part of the pre-operative consultation and can help you and your surgeon develop a unique treatment plan that will achieve the best result. Ask about our simulation software during your visit to learn more about how this technology can help you look your best.

How long do I need to take off work or school in order to recover?

Your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs and desires, and therefore the timeline for recovery may vary, although most patients take at least 1 week off after surgery. You and your surgeon will discuss the recovery process during your consultation.
